Wall decoration - Italy - Robust art 2.2 kg - 37 cm

Grand Relief Ceramic Mosaic Wall Mirror - 37 cm Description: Magnificent vintage round wall mirror (circa 1970-1980) created using the artisanal piqué-assiette technique (mosaic made from antique dinnerware). This model stands out for the use of thick Mediterranean ceramic and earthenware pieces in relief, hand-painted before firing, offering a very sunny and textured decor. The frame features citrus fruits (oranges) with their branches and green foliage, enhanced by geometric friezes. The gaps are filled with solid orange and bright yellow mosaic tesserae, sealed with a perfectly sound white cement joint. The finishing work is of great meticulousness: the outer edge of the mirror is entirely bordered by a double row of white rectangular finishing tesserae, preventing any protrusion of raw mortar. The back support is a heavy solid wood board machined on a lathe (with a recess for embedding), painted in its original dark green shade. The 2 cm thickness and the nobility of the materials give the piece substantial weight of 2.2 kg, a guarantee of robust and high-quality handcrafted art. A magnificent piece of popular art with rustic and Mediterranean Italian charm, ideal for vintage, bohemian, or cottagecore decor.
