Juwelier Hörl Prototype Display Clock – German Mid-Century Modern – Bauhaus-Inspired – 1970s – Original Display Model A rare German Mid-Century Modern prototype display clock from the 1970s, featuring a refined geometric design in brushed gold-tone aluminium. With its clean architectural lines and Bauhaus-inspired aesthetic, this exceptional piece embodies the minimalist elegance of high-end German design from the period. This clock originates from the former collection of Juwelier Hörl (Augsburg, Germany), where it formed part of an exclusive collection of designer clocks displayed in the jeweller's showroom. This clock is one of a larger group of prototype clocks acquired from the former shop collection of Juwelier Hörl. These experimental presentation models were never intended for regular commercial production and don't have a clock movement. Each example is unique, offering a rare insight into the creative design process behind Hörl's exclusive collection of designer clocks. Should the new owner wish, a standard quartz movement can be installed with ease, transforming it into a fully functional wall clock while preserving its original appearance. The original Hörl inventory label is still present on the reverse, further confirming its provenance. The brushed gold-tone finish remains in excellent vintage condition with only light signs of age and use consistent with its age.
