Two important antique English ceramic plates, produced by the renowned British manufactory W.R.&Co (William Ridgway and Company), located in Hanley, Staffordshire. The decorative pattern is "Etruscan Festoon". It is a refined motif in the Victorian/Georgian style introduced from the mid-1830s, characterized by intertwined floral garlands around vases of classical (Etruscan-Roman) inspiration. Ceramic with two-color transfer print in yellow and black. The yellow-background print is considered one of the rarest and most sought-after variants among nineteenth-century ceramics. The inscription "&Co" together with the specific crest allows dating the plates to around 1835-1840. They thus have almost 200 years of history.
