VOLTA - XXL "Flamingos in Emerald Night"

A rain of green touches falls from above, dense and luminous, and slowly fades into the night’s darkness. Each brushstroke is a leaf, a reflection, a fragment of light detaching from the foliage and dropping. Only below, almost at the edge, do the flamingos advance in the dark water: small, pinkish, attentive, with thin legs that slice the reflections. The jungle here is no longer a scene, but an atmosphere that overwhelms, vibrates, and breathes above them. The vertical format emphasizes the disproportion: a huge emerald night and, below, a moment of pink that resist the dark. Signed and dated 2026 at the bottom right Image dimensions: 150 x 70 cm Total canvas size: 160 x 80 cm The work is sold without a frame, it will be rolled and shipped in a cardboard tube. The certificate of authenticity is issued exclusively on request, in digital format. Volta’s pursuit moves in the wake of a return — not nostalgic, but active. The great tradition of European painting is the starting point: the period that each work evokes, from time to time. But the gesture with which this heritage is traversed is unequivocally contemporary. Color does not illustrate, it breathes. The brushstroke does not describe, it vibrates. What remains of the past is the deep structure — a certain idea of the body, of space, of light — while the surface is fully present, fully alive. Volta does not quote, restitutes: his compositions seem to emerge from a shared cultural memory, brought to light with different eyes."}
