GENERAL For sale: a beautiful classic in very good condition – the iconic Volkswagen Beetle 1200 from 1969. This Beetle has an odometer reading of 80,950 km and is powered by an original 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine with a power output of 25 kW (34 hp). The car is painted in the original color Chinchilla Grey (L70F) and bears the license plate 89-73-HT. The MOT is no longer mandatory, as the car falls under historic exemption (RDW recognized). BODYWORK & PAINT In 2019 the Beetle was fully restored. The body, underbody, side panels and box-beams were completely addressed. The car has been repainted in the original factory color Chinchilla Grey and has been in excellent condition since. During the restoration new bumpers of German chrome/steel were installed, as well as new window rubbers, original trim strips and an authentic rack under the dashboard. The boot area is equipped with a foldable cover, and a classic Hitachi radio has been installed. The chrome work is neat, the body is solid and the car shows no rust spots or damage. TECHNICAL In 2022 several technical components were renewed, including spark plugs, cables, filters and the complete fuel system with tank. Also new tires and rims were mounted. The front axle is equipped with new shock absorbers and lowered kingpins, and a major service was performed. The Beetle runs excellently, with the original engine still on board. The engine starts well, runs smoothly and the gearbox shifts easily. The chassis, brakes and electrical system are in very good condition, with no technical defects or weak points. INTERIOR The interior is largely original and in excellent condition. All upholstery, the dashboard and headlining are neatly finished and well maintained. Thanks to the restoration the interior has remained fresh, complete and authentic, preserving the classic character that makes this Beetle so recognizable. DOCUMENTS The car comes with both the original steel rims with hubcaps and the currently mounted alloy Smiths wheels. There is a full appraisal report in which the car is assessed in class 2, meaning the bodywork, paint, chrome and interior are in very good condition. The engine, gearbox, chassis and electrical installation are also described as excellent. PICK-UP The car is available for viewing by appointment. Delivery or transport can be arranged by arrangement. The Beetle is sold by a private owner who has cared for the car meticulously and has always stored it indoors. OTHER INFORMATION This Volkswagen Beetle is an original Dutch car with a clear maintenance history. It has been carefully refurbished, with authenticity and originality preserved.
