Virgin and Child Seated, 20th Century

Descriptio Carved and polychromed wood. Measures 42 x 29 x 20 cm. Seated image of the Virgin with the Child on her lap, wearing a crown and metallic halo. Mary holds an open book while the Child, naked, rests naturally on her left arm, creating an intimate and balanced composition. The polychromy combines green and gold tones with vegetal decoration, highlighting the glossy finish and meticulous treatment of the surfaces, characteristic of 20th-century devotional imagery. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
