The Masterpiece: Venice by Canaletto (In its box) • Theme: "The Quay of the Piazzetta" after the Venetian painter Canaletto (Doge’s Palace, gondolas, quay activity). • Origin: Villeroy & Boch Mettlach (Made in Germany 06). Late 1960s / Early 1970s. • Feature: Supplied complete with its original period cardboard box with orange and white geometric patterns (Dimensions: 17.5 x 17.5 cm). • Condition: Tile in good vintage condition. The gilded frame shows a very slight patina. The original box is sold as-is: the bottom cardboard remains rigid, but the transparent thermoformed lid on top is damaged and worn at the corners (retained solely for authenticity). 2. The Duo of Artists: Provence Scenes (Hand-Painted) • Theme: Two tiles on a glossy black background. One shows a couple before the Pont d’Avignon, the other a couple before a building or Provençal mas. • Origin: Villeroy & Boch Mettlach. Rare historical marking "Made in Germany Saar" (The Saar) dated 1964. • Technique & Condition: Fully hand-painted over glaze with a raised enamel relief (textured). Signed by the artist. Good vintage condition, with very slight micro-abrasions on the paint due to artisan nature (Weight: 273 g each). 3. The Piece of Tradition: The Fisherman in Relief • Theme: Fisherman with a line by the water, surrounded by a rich frieze of grape clusters and vine leaves. • Origin: Villeroy & Boch Mettlach (Made in Germany 02). 1950s-1960s. • Technique: High-quality decoration with superb raised enamel highlights (textured chromolithography). Good vintage condition. 4. The Spanish Duo: Pair "Bartolomé Esteban Murillo" (1974) • Theme: Two faithful reproductions of Murillo’s baroque masterpieces depicting street children of Seville. Note a discreet surface scratch on the tile with the three dice players (Weight: 235 g each). 5. The Touch of History: Breton Folklore (Saar Postwar) • Theme: Couple in traditional Breton costume talking on a coastal path with sailing ships in the background (Pont-Aven style). • Origin: Villeroy & Boch Mettlach. Postwar geopolitical note sought: "Made in Germany Saar". Late 1950s / Early 1960s. Good vintage condition. 6. The Pastoral Inspiration: The Shepherd and His Flock • Theme: Bucolic rural scene after an English 19th-century engraving (shepherd, dog, cows and sheep by a river), which inspired the famous Audun Ferme collection. • Origin: Villeroy & Boch La Ferté-Gaucher (Made in France). Late 1960s. • Condition: Good vintage condition. Minor edge chips on the outer rims, almost entirely hidden when the tile is mounted under the frame. 7. Good vintage condition. • Tile "The Dancers": Simple scene depicting two women in colorful traditional dresses evoking Andean or South American folklore. Villeroy & Boch Mettlach (Dated 1961). Good vintage condition, with a background slightly more cream/yellowed with time. • (Weight: 260 g each). 8. The Final Graphical Duo: Bullfight & Roman Aqueduct • Tile "The Bullfight": Matador in green and gold attire waving his capote facing the bull in the arena. • Tile "The Landscape at the Stone Bridge": Figures and dog drinking near a stream, dominated by a stone aqueduct. • Origin & Condition: Marked with the official Villeroy & Boch logo in relief on the back (country not stated). 1960s-1970s. Good vintage condition, with some discreet wear or aging traces (Weight: 245 g each). The complete set is presented in good vintage used condition. All pieces have been rigorously inspected: no major cracks or breaks to report. The few minor defects mentioned (slight edge chips masked by the frames, light scratches or patina from time) are completely normal for pieces of that era and certify their authenticity. Weight of the tiles alone: between 235 g and 273 g depending on the model. Average thickness: 5 mm.
