Jewellery made from cut rock crystal is a recurring theme in the history of jewelry. In Art Deco and up until the 1950s, it was Suzanne Belperron in particular who designed and had rings and brooches, and even bangles, made from satin-finished rock crystal in Paris. In the late 1960s, David Webb adopted her love of the material and once again turned it into a major fashion that was quickly imitated worldwide. This piece of jewellery is a fabulous, large flower made from cut rock crystal. The shimmering petals arch over each other symmetrically and in two layers. The details of the stylized leaves have been lovingly cut out of the stone. The hard crystal appears incredibly soft and velvety thanks to the skillful processing of the surfaces. Mounts made from high-carat white gold hold the crystals. On them, a total of 71 high-quality diamonds with a total weight of around 2.60 carats add sparkling points of light to the piece of jewellery. A pin on the back and a movable loop allow the piece to be worn as a brooch or pendant. According to the hallmark, the sophisticated work was created in Italy. We were able to acquire this glamorous piece of jewellery from an important Stuttgart collection. It is in very good condition and an unusual eye-catcher.
