Vintage Earclips With Trillant & Princess Diamonds by Werner Zappe

Unusual and decorative is the pair of vintage ear clips here from the 1990s. The clips are made of high karat yellow and white gold and show a magnificent gemstone setting. The center of the composition is occupied by a diamond in an unusual triangular cut, which provides the basic shape of the design. Today, the brilliant cut dominates the world of diamond jewellery almost unchallenged. It is all too easy to forget that there are many other exciting cuts that can be used to shape the hardest mineral on earth! Each shape brings out different qualities of the diamond and lets it shine in a different light. The diamonds in the upper half of the clips here are the so-called trillant cut, which makes the diamonds look like glittering triangles. This dynamic shape contrasts particularly beautifully with the rounded setting. Towards the bottom, the clips taper off into white gold bars, which are also set with unusual cut diamonds. Two princess cut diamonds each glitter here in open channel settings. According to the hallmark, the clips are the work of Werner Zappe of Pforzheim. We discovered the pair in Hamburg. The clips are in very good condition and are wonderful jewellery for those who love the unusual.
