Vincenzo Cabianca (1827-1902), Attrib. - Processione nel Chiostro

Vincenzo Cabianca (1827-1902) An authentic masterpiece of the purest and most exasperated phase of the Macchiaioli movement... The work develops the famous and highly sought-after theme of the nuns in sunlit cloisters, rendered with a magistral 'macchia' brushwork: a violent and poetic chiaroscuro contrast where the white headdresses of the nuns serve as pure and bright transverse points of light... The painting presents a peculiarity of extraordinary collecting interest: the original pressed cardboard support bears on the back the mark of the historic early 20th-century confectionery firm "B.Consonni-Piacenza". The composition was indeed chosen by the company as a prestigious image for the cover of its luxury boxes of chocolate and biscuits... A gem of art that unites the excellence of 19th-century Macchiaioli painting with the great history of Italian graphic design and industrial costume... A piece of exceptional rarity for refined collectors... Oil on pressed cardboard, 22.5 x 22.5 cm (without frame) and 32 x 35 cm with frame... Signed "V.C" at the bottom left... The frame is offered as a gift therefore we do not accept complaints nor do we assume responsibility for any damage during shipping ... We do not ship outside Europe.
