Splendid work on canvas by maestro Vincenzo Balsamo, dated 1992, a mature period in which the artist consolidates his celebrated exploration of lyrical abstraction, the stratification of color, and the interweaving of signs. The painting is distinguished by a dense and refined geometric-linear weave that overlays color fields dominated by shades of blue, turquoise, and light blue, at the center emerging a nucleus of warm, pastel tones. The composition creates a deep vibration of light and a sense of airy spatiality, characteristic and historicized elements of the artist's poetics, suspended between geometric abstraction and informal suggestiveness. Title: Chromatic Composition Year: 1992 Technique: mixed media on canvas Dimensions: 43 x 30 cm; frame: 64.5 x 49.5 cm Signed on the front bottom right On the back: signature, year, archive-number stamp Provenance: Daliano Ribani Arte, Carrara Vincenzo Balsamo was an important Italian painter of the second half of the twentieth century. Trained in Rome, he developed an international career exhibiting in prestigious galleries and museums in Italy, Europe, and the United States. His artistic evolution moved from an initial expressive figuration to rigorous geometric abstraction, then arriving at a very personal informal and lyrical phase (as in the work in question), dominated by sign filaments and chromatic transparencies. His works are part of important public and private collections.
