A striking Viking-era style bronze amulet distinguished by its powerful concentric solar design, formed from a series of raised circular rings radiating outward from a pronounced central boss. The concentric composition can be interpreted as a solar or celestial motif. Circular and radiating designs occur widely in northern European decorative traditions and are often associated in modern interpretation with the sun, cycles of nature, continuity and protection. The central boss gives the piece the appearance of an eye or solar centre, making the design particularly evocative. The surface retains an attractive aged character with deep green, dark brown and earthy bronze patination, while wear to the raised areas reveals warmer metallic tones and emphasizes the circular decoration. Now mounted with a silver-coloured suspension ring and chain, the ancient-style object is presented as a distinctive wearable historical pendant while retaining its strong archaeological appearance. Object: Solar / concentric-circle amulet Attributed culture: Viking / Medieval Northern European Material: Bronze Decoration: Raised concentric circles with central boss Symbolism: Sun, celestial cycle and protection — interpretative Condition: Age-related wear and patination; please refer to the photographs for condition.
