Characteristic and heavy vintage figural ashtray in the shape of a frog with a widely opened mouth, dating from the 1940s to 1960s. This charming mid-century object is made of solid cast bronze or heavy brass with a weight of no less than 435 grams and compact dimensions of 4.9 centimeters high, 10.6 centimeters long and 8.7 centimeters wide. The metal is produced using the traditional sand-casting method, which is visible in the characteristic rough and unlabeled flat underside. The exterior features a beautiful, authentic dark patina of age with lovely greenish oxidation in the veins on the back, while the interior of the mouth and lips is polished to the original gold-yellow metal color. This decorative piece, very likely of artisanal Indian or Taiwanese origin, is in excellent vintage condition and today also perfectly suited as a decorative catch-all or ring dish. Dimensions: 4.9x10.6x8.7 cm Weight: 435 g
