All auctions / Ancient Art / Vase - Porcelain - Japan - Meiji period (1868-1912) (No reserve price)

Elegant and classic pair of Japanese Imari porcelain vases dating from the late 19th century Meiji period (1868-1912). The vases feature a baluster form with richly ribbed walls, a typic and highly sought-after pattern for export decorations of that era. They display the traditional palette known as the “three-color”: a deep cobalt blue underglaze, paired with a bright iron red overglaze, all enhanced by delicate gold highlights and painted arabesques. One of the vases has a chip; the other is in good condition.
