Imari porcelain vase with phoenix decoration on a bronze mount - Japan - Meiji period (1868-1912) Description: Elegant vase of Imari Japanese porcelain, dating from the Meiji era (1868-1912). Decoration of great finesse hand-painted in the traditional Arita palette (cobalt blue underglaze, iron-red, and gold highlights on a white background). • Decor: Two large main cartouches featuring a mythological phoenix (Hō-ō) soaring over chrysanthemums. The sides show landscape scenes of flowering trees (prunus) and stylized clouds, highlighted with gold. • Mount: Rests on a removable tripod bronze mount patinated with rocaille-style volutes (Europe, late 19th century / Napoleon III). Condition: Very good overall condition of the porcelain (no cracks, no chips). There is an original hole at the center of the base, historically made to mount the vase as a lamp base (the electrical system has been removed, the vase is clean). Slight patina from use on the bronze. Dimensions: • Total height (with base): 28 cm • Height of the vase alone: 25 cm • Neck diameter: 11.5 cm
