An impressive and authentic Chinese porcelain vase Decoration & Symbolism Front: A lively depiction of the classic theme "Yu Qiao Geng Du" (Fisherman, Woodcutter, Farmer, and Scholar). It shows boys playing with a water buffalo in a rocky landscape and a scholar in a mountain cave. The corresponding four calligraphic characters (渔 樵 耕 读) appear on the neck. Back: Decorated with an extensive poem and an artistic inscription in fluid *Xingshu* (running script) calligraphy. Neck & Details: Flanking the neck are two stylish, openwork 'butterfly' handles with subtle traces of gilding. Specifications & Condition Height: 43 cm Condition: In excellent condition – the vase is completely free of chips, cracks, hairlines, or restorations. The base features a fine, unglazed foot rim showing authentic signs of age and iron spots from the firing process. Light age wear on gilding and calligraphy. Provenance / Origin: Comes with the original Certificate of Origin from Galerie Stampaert (Ghent) dated 1974 (lot 56). This document provides irrefutable proof that the lot has been in a private Belgian collection for over 50 years and rules out modern reproduction. A rare, complete collector's item and a stunning eye-catcher for any interior. Your item will be carefully packaged and shipped with full track and trace for your peace of mind; local pickup is also warmly welcomed in Ekeren (Antwerp), Belgium.
