The glasses belong to one of the first sets produced by Val Saint Lambert. The stem of the glass also resembles the "Cylindrique" from the sister company Baccarat / Saint Louis, The glasses are mouth-blown in a chalice shape, after which they were hand-embossed with loops and lines. The glasses are made of glass to which a portion of pure crystal was added; this was often done in the 19th century to give the glasses a nicer sheen. Also, the purity levels were not as high as today. This can be seen from small air bubbles in the glass. All glasses vary in weight, All glasses are in good condition, no cracks or chips. Given their age, a small sign of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections which are completely normal for antique glassware of more than 100 years.
