Under (UV) light the glass fluoresces bright green due to the presence of a small amount of uranium oxide. Six beautiful engraved glasses made by Val Saint Lambert, circa 1880. You can find these glasses in Val Saint Lambert's first catalog, 1900, under the dinner service "Service Lothaire". See print in the attachment. The glasses belong to one of the first dinner services produced by Val Saint Lambert. The stem of the glass also resembles the "Cylindrique" from the sister company Baccarat / Saint Louis. The glasses are mouth-blown in a goblet shape, after which they were hand-engraved with loops and lines. The glasses are made of glass into which a portion of pure crystal was added; this was common in the 19th century to give the glasses a nicer shine. Also, the purity levels were not as high as today.
