USA 1927 (Jun 29) New York to Paris first official transatlantic commemorative cover flown by R.E Byrd, franked with 5c tied 'New York Jun 21' c.d.s, with 'Ver-Sur-Mer 2 7 27' arrival cancel applied, having landed, in fog, on the French Coast. Some of the surviving covers show water damage (or lack the stamp), this example is in fine condition. Scarce.
