The coffee maker depicted in the image is a rare vintage electric steam coffee maker produced by Urmet in the 1950s. It is an exceptional piece for a collection of Italian industrial archaeology, characterized by a steam-powered operating mechanism similar to that of the contemporaneous and more famous Stella coffee makers produced in Ferrara. Structure and Materials: The main cylindrical body is made of heavy chrome-plated brass with a mirror-like glossy finish. In the upper part, the cream-colored bakelite knob stands out, along with the characteristic curved metal handle that serves to hermetically seal the upper assembly and the lid. Dispensing System: It features a single external curved spout (visible on the left) positioned high, which allowed pouring coffee directly into a cup or carafe by exploiting the internal steam pressure generated by the boiler. Electrical Component: On the lower right side, the two protruding male prongs are evident, typical of the era’s electrical connection system (often arranged for varying voltages such as 140/160/220 Volts), to which the power cord with a black bakelite plug was connected. Photos are an integral part of the description. I will cover the cost of preparing appropriate packaging for safe shipment with tracking and rapid delivery.
