Unworn Solitaire Platinum Ring with 1.36 ct Brilliant, From Our Workshop

The custom of presenting a diamond ring as an engagement gift has been documented since the late Middle Ages. However, this hardest of all gemstones was a real treasure and almost exclusively the privilege of the nobility. It was only after rich deposits were discovered in South Africa in the late 19th century that the wider classes were able to afford diamond jewelry. The classic solitaire ring, i.e. a ring with just one diamond, is said to date back to a design by the famous jeweler Tiffany & Co. in 1886. To this day, this form of ring has remained the epitome of the engagement ring: It combines all the symbolism that can be expected from a piece of jewelry that is based on a promise. One such solitaire ring was created on our behalf here in Berlin. At its center is a sparkling brilliant-cut diamond weighing 1.36 carats. The platinum shank and setting enhance the warm brilliance of the natural diamond in the colour grade "Top Cape" (K-L), with a few small natural inclusions that attest to its authenticity (SI1). The vintage diamond from around 1960 is held securely by six prongs. The ring was deliberately produced sustainably: Both the diamond and the platinum of the ring are used here in second use; they are reused, historical materials. An independent expert opinion on the quality of the materials is included with the ring. We love this ring design because it’s simple and lets the beautiful diamond take center stage.
