Unworn Ring With Garnet In Rose Gold From Our Workshop

Did you know that red garnets symbolise loyalty and constancy? Old books on the language of gemstones tell us that garnets are said to preserve love. Their deep red colour also made them the subject of myths and legends as early as the Middle Ages, when people believed the stone could glow from within. In those days, garnets were often called "carbuncles." This term has its origin in Latin and refers to this very legend: carbunculus means something akin to “glowing coal.” With this image in mind, our ancestors associated the sparkling garnet with a mysterious, deep colour that reveals itself not only in sunlight. The present ring, crafted from high-carat rose gold, was made in our workshop. Its design references the delicate ring styles of the 18th century, when legends about this gemstone were still widely known. At its centre, a dark red garnet is set as a solitaire in a golden bezel. The underside of the setting is also finely detailed, offering a beautiful view from any angle. The garnet, faceted in the so-called "Bohemian star cut," is held by a three-part band, with small lily motifs on either side of the carbuncle. This ring is finely crafted to showcase the garnet’s brilliance at its best, while being sturdy enough for daily wear. An ideal engagement ring and a romantic gift of love.
