Universal Genève Small Seconds – Gold-Plated Case – Swiss Quartz Movement – Champagne Dial – Roman Numerals - 1980-1989 An elegant vintage Universal Genève wristwatch combining the refined proportions of a traditional Swiss timepiece with the precision and practicality of a quartz movement. The watch features a warm champagne dial with slender black Roman numerals, fine minute markers and elegant gold-tone hands. A recessed small-seconds subdial at 6 o’clock adds visual balance and gives the watch the appearance of a classic mechanical dress watch, while its quartz movement provides convenient and reliable timekeeping. The distinctive curved lugs and slim gold-plated case create a sophisticated profile typical of Universal Genève's elegant watches from the late 20th century. Technical Details Brand: Universal Genève Case material: Gold plated Case diameter: 30 mm Glass: Mineral crystal Dial: Champagne dial with Roman numerals Movement: Swiss quartz Functions: Hours, minutes, small seconds Case reference: 541.313 Serial / case number: 417773 Water resistance: Not tested for water resistance Strap: Generic black leather strap, approx. 19–20 cm Box: Generic box included Condition: Grade B Condition Report This Universal Genève is in Grade B condition, with signs of age, consistent with a vintage timepiece. The gold-plated case shows scratches, small marks and surface wear, visible on the case back and around the edges. The case retains its elegant appearance overall, while the distinctive curved lugs remain an attractive design feature. The champagne dial is well preserved overall. The Roman numerals, Universal Genève signature and minute track remain clear and legible. The small-seconds subdial at 6 o’clock features a finely textured concentric finish and complements the classical design of the dial. The mineral crystal shows signs of normal use. The watch has not been tested for water resistance, therefore water resistance is not guaranteed. Please study all photos carefully, as they are part of the description and show the actual condition of the item. Story & Heritage Universal Genève occupies an important place in the history of Swiss watchmaking. Founded in 1894, the manufacture became particularly respected for its sophisticated movements, chronographs and refined wristwatches, producing several designs that are today highly appreciated by vintage collectors. Although the maison is especially famous for mechanical icons such as the Compax family and Polerouter, Universal Genève also embraced quartz technology as the Swiss watch industry evolved. Watches from this later period retained the elegant proportions and restrained design language associated with the brand while incorporating the accuracy and convenience of electronic movements. This example is particularly charming for the way it combines two worlds: a Swiss quartz movement inside a watch designed with unmistakably traditional details — Roman numerals, a champagne dial, small seconds and graceful curved lugs. A refined vintage Universal Genève with understated elegance and the distinctive character of one of Switzerland’s historic watchmaking names. Internal Reference Number - FLO-170
