British Army Helmet – WWI, ca. 1917 – Brodie Type The helmet is without its inner liner as well as the chinstrap. no markings can be discerned The shell features an interesting polychrome camouflage paint, composed of several tones, quite in the style of the camouflage applied to American helmets during World War I. This type of British helmet was issued to the “Doughboys” of the American Army The origin and authenticity of this camouflage paint are not guaranteed, however. The shell has been pierced by a bullet: it shows an entry wound as well as an exit wound. This element is visible in the photographs. This helmet was found at a recycling center a few years ago.
