Undated (1835-1837) Christopher Bechtler $1. K-3. Rarity-6. 28.G.

Rare Second Offering for a K-3 Bechtler G$1 Undated (1835-1837) Christopher Bechtler $1. K-3. Rarity-6. 28.G. Centered, No Star. Reeded Edge. AU-53 (PCGS). Given the elusiveness of this variety and the infrequency with which we have offered examples in years past, you can imagine your cataloger's surprise when he was given the opportunity to present multiple examples in this sale. The PCGS AU-53 offered here boasts handsome surfaces that exhibit mottled coppery highlights to otherwise dominant honey-gold color. Boldly defined with only light wear, direct lighting also calls forth glints of original mint finish from the protected areas around the devices. A few light scrapes and wispy pin scratches in the fields are noted for accuracy, more so for the obverse. PCGS# 10058. NGC ID: 2B96. Click here for certification details from PCGS. Image with the PCGS TrueView logo is obtained from and is subject to a license agreement with Collectors Universe, Inc. and its divisions PCGS and PSA. Click here to see Coins in Motion.
