All automatic watches must be wound initially via the crown as wrist movement alone is not sufficient to maintain the required power reserve. RULE FOR ALL AUTOMATIC WATCHES WITH DATE To avoid possible damage to the movement, please do not set the date using the crown when the time is between 21:00 and 03:00. It is advisable to set the date with the crown when the time is between 03:05 and 20:55. (Some models have a screw-down crown; for settings, gently unscrew the crown counterclockwise. Don’t forget to securely screw the crown back after adjusting.)
