TWO SAFAVID BLUE AND WHITE CERAMIC BOWLS

Ca. AD 1500 - 1700 A pair of blue and white glazed ceramic bowls, each with rounded, flaring sides and a low ring foot. The exteriors are painted in cobalt blue with alternating shaped panels enclosing flowering plants and architectural landscapes, above narrow bands of geometric and foliate ornament. The rims are encircled by blue lines, with further linear decoration around the feet. Size: 195-200mm x 95-95mm; Weight: 935g Provenance: Property of a West London gentleman; previously in a collection formed on the UK/International art market in the 1980s.
