A Czech painter, illustrator, puppeteer, and filmmaker, Jiří Trnka (1912–1969) is one of the leading figures in European animation. His work, deeply rooted in the artistic traditions of Bohemia, combines poetic sensibility, graphic invention, and visual experimentation. Catalog featuring, among other things, a text by Jiří Šetlík on Trnka’s place in contemporary Czech art. Text in Czech.
