Triptych Icon - Madonna and Child - Hand-painted - Wood - 1950-1960

A distinctive and atmospheric religious triptych, executed in wood and richly decorated with gold-colored/gilt finish. In the center is a hand-painted depiction of Mary with the Child Jesus, carried out in the traditional Orthodox/Byzantine iconographic style. The two hinged doors at the inside feature several small religious scenes and saints, including mounted saints. The outer sides of the doors are hand-painted with decorative floral and rose motifs.
