Trilobite Hollardops mesocristata — Middle Devonian, Morocco An exceptional specimen of Hollardops mesocristata, a marine trilobite that lived about 390 million years ago during the Middle Devonian. From the renowned fossil formations of the Moroccan Anti-Atlas, one of the world's richest localities for perfectly preserved trilobites. The specimen features professional preparation that enhances its three-dimensionality and anatomical details. Particularly notable are the schizochroal compound eyes, formed by hundreds of individual lenses clearly visible, and the pronounced genal spines typical of the genus. The thorax clearly shows the 10 segments characteristic of this genus — a rarity among asaphid trilobites — and it tapers harmoniously toward the pygidium. A piece of great scientific and collecting value, ideal for advanced paleontological collections. Species: Hollardops mesocristata Age: Middle Devonian (~390 Ma) Origin: Anti-Atlas, Morocco Matrix: Limestone
