Trilobite - Fossilised animal - Hollardops - 9 cm

Trilobite Platyscutellum sp — Middle Devonian, Morocco Exceptional specimen of Platyscutellum sp, a marine trilobite that lived about 390 million years ago during the Middle Devonian. From the renowned fossiliferous formations of the Moroccan Anti-Atlas, one of the world's richest localities for perfectly preserved trilobites. The specimen features professional preparation that enhances its three-dimensionality and anatomical details. Particularly notable are the schizocroal compound eyes, formed by hundreds of individual lenses that are perfectly visible, and the pronounced genal spines typical of the genus. The thorax clearly shows the 10 segments characteristic of this genus—a rarity among acastid trilobites—and it gracefully tapers toward the pygidium. A piece of great scientific and collecting value, ideal for advanced paleontological collections. Specie: Platyscutellum sp Age: Middle Devonian (~390 Ma) Provenance: Anti-Atlas, Morocco Matrix: Limestone
