Trilobite - Fossil carapace - Crotalocephalus Gibbus

In this lot, trilobites of good size are up for auction, of the species Crotalocephalus Gibbus in matrix. The complete specimen measures 9 cm in length, the animal's body in an extended position would be about 8 cm. Perfect preservation and excellent preparation work using the jetting technique. Completely natural and without restorations, good eye quality, it is a top-quality piece. Imposing arched position, semi-fossil, the full labral plate (hypostome) can be observed, body with greenish and brownish tones. It comes from the Atchana quarry, near the Issoumoure mountain, west of Jebel Oufaten, Tinghir Province, (Morocco). Crotalocephalus (Cheirurus) Gibbus is known as the "caterpillar" trilobite. This specimen is accompanied by an L-shaped acrylic display stand as a gift.
