Traditional silver TOEAREG CABLE bracelet. Niger or Mali, North Africa. Wandering nomads. Silver cable bracelet with distinctive square heads featuring hand-engraved geometric motifs. These motifs form a talisman, protecting against the evil eye, absorbing negative energy and reflecting it back. This bracelet also provides safety, luck, and safe travels. Traditionally handmade by experienced silversmiths from Niger or Mali. Twisted or braided silver pattern. High silver content. Worn, with a good patina, most evident wear from long-term wear on the outer faces of the heads. Very different from the engravings on the inner side. Probably early 20th century. weighs 117 grams. Exterior dimensions 9.8 x 9.7 cm. Interior dimensions 8.6 x 7.7 cm. Thickness 0.65 cm, thickness of the two knobs 2.9 cm. See photos that are part of this description.
