Timeless Necklace Made of Akoya Saltwater Cultured Pearls with a Gold

Long pearl necklaces are among the great classics of jewelry history. In the early 20th century, they became a symbol of a new, effortless elegance: instead of lying tightly against the neck, they softly followed the lines of the body, lending even simple dresses a sense of movement and glamorous nonchalance. In this long necklace, 90 finely matched saltwater cultured pearls come together to form a calm, flowing line. With a diameter of approximately 7.8 mm each, the pearls show only a few surface characteristics that identify them as natural products. Their gentle luster makes the surface shimmer in cream-colored and delicate rosy hues—precisely the subtle play of colours that defines the special charm of fine saltwater cultured pearls. The finely crafted clasp in high karat yellow gold adds a precious accent. Its spherical, openwork design is enlivened by four small octagonal-cut diamonds. With its understated sparkle, it complements the pearls’ soft luster without competing with it. Worn to the side or at the front, the clasp itself can serve as a decorative element of the necklace. This classic piece came to us from Hanover.
