The work alternates polished surfaces with raised decorative details, creating a pleasing contrast that enhances the overall elegance. Particularly characteristic are the long curved spout, the angular-line handle with small inserts presumably made of bone, and the hinged lid, topped by a refined ornamental knop. On the base there are several maker’s marks, including the monogram attributable to Thomas Latham & Ernest Morton, a documented English producer of silver-plated tableware.
