Immerse yourself in the world of classical aesthetics with this antique opera glass made of gilded brass, adorned with noble iridescent mother-of-pearl. This vintage treasure combines elegant design with traditional craftsmanship and offers not only a stylish decoration but also a functional magnification for your cultural experience. Ideal for lovers of historic optics and accessories, this opera glass becomes an indispensable companion for your special occasions. Manufacturer: Iris was a renowned French maker of optical instruments based in Paris. Era: Most examples on the market come from the late Victorian or Edwardian era (circa 1850 to 1900). Function: These compact binoculars were an indispensable fashion accessory for theater and opera-goers of the upper class at the turn of the century. Antique opera glasses by Iris (often, as here, signed Iris Paris) are sought-after collectibles from the turn-of-the-century period (around 1900), known for their high-quality optics and elegant design. Here you are bidding on an excellently preserved opera glass with no chipping and multi-signed mother-of-pearl. Ground on the bottom with the name and a diamond with the I company logo. Stamped on the bridge: an I in a star. Manufacturer name and city on both ocular cases. Rare Abalone mother-of-pearl expertly crafted with no visible transitions! Gilded brass with a flattering patina harmonizes with the aubergine-violet-black shimmering mother-of-pearl. The adjustment/focusing via the center wheel is flawless and smooth! Extremely clear view and magnification. Clear view—no scratches or fungus on the lenses—cleaned. The objective lenses can be easily removed for cleaning. The stated dimensions refer to the extended state of the opera glass! Approximate dimensions: 7.5 x 10 x 4 cm A rarity for enthusiastic collectors! Dear buyer!
