The Zombies - Begin Here (UK) – Rare 1965 1st Mono...

A beautiful original 1965 UK first mono pressing of The Zombies' legendary debut album Begin Here, released on Decca under catalogue number LK 4679. This is the desirable early UK issue with the classic red and silver unboxed Decca labels and deep groove, giving it the unmistakable appearance of an original mid-1960s Decca pressing. Begin Here was The Zombies' first UK LP and captures the group during their earliest period, combining their distinctive melodic songwriting with rhythm & blues and beat influences. The album includes the breakthrough classic "She's Not There", alongside favourites such as "The Way I Feel Inside," "I Remember When I Loved Her," "What More Can I Do" and their interpretations of several American R&B standards. Original UK copies have become increasingly desirable among collectors of British Beat, 1960s R&B and early UK rock, particularly when the sleeve and original accessories have survived together. This copy is complete with its original period inner sleeve. ⸻ Sleeve (VG+): The original sleeve presents extremely well from the front, with the laminated panel remaining bright and attractive. The rear shows some age-related wear, including a small sticker and a yellowed strip or mark which appears to have resulted from previous sticker removal. Apart from this, the sleeve remains a very nice example for its age → VG+ Inner Sleeve: Original period inner sleeve included. Vinyl (VG+): The vinyl retains a very nice original shine and the deep-groove Decca labels remain clean and attractive. There are some superficial lines and light signs of previous play visible under light, but overall the record remains a very presentable VG+ example → VG+ ⸻ Details * UK 1st pressing * Mono * Red and silver unboxed Decca labels * Deep groove * Catalogue: LK 4679 * Original inner sleeve included ⸻ Matrix / Stampers * ARL-6709-1A / ARL-6710-1A * Stampers: 1 IU / 1 C
