The Secret Spot - Petra Meikle de Vlas

The Secret Spot by Petra Meikle de Vlas Painting 40.2 x 80.3 :: The Secret Spot by Petra Meikle A statement wall art large piece inspired by the secluded reef coves and hidden blue pools along the coast of the Great Barrier Reef near where I live. These are the places you stumble upon by boat by memory or by chance — where the water shifts from pale turquoise to deep ocean blue and you feel for a moment as though the whole world has fallen quiet around you. This is large wall art blue in every sense of the phrase created to bring that feeling of breath openness and stillness into a space — especially when chosen as art for new home styling or above a bed in a peaceful bedroom. The composition reflects a shoreline curve where the reef shelf drops away into deeper water. Soft white sand appears just beneath the surface contrasted by rich layers of cobalt indigo and lagoon blue. There are gentle wave forms that arc towards the shore and fine reef-like textures that catch the light — subtle metallic warmth suggesting coral heads tidal rocks and underwater structures. The blues are not a single flat colour but shifting layered and alive — like the real ocean they hold both clarity and depth. There is a sense of solitude here — the feeling of being somewhere quiet and untouched where the tides move slowly and time feels suspended. It’s a painting made to invite calm reflection and a softness in the room while still holding visual strength from across a space. As you move closer the detail grows more intricate — delicate channels subtle colour transitions and fine patterns that reveal the “secret” nature of the place just like the reef itself: serene from afar endlessly complex up close. :: Type: Painting Medium: Watercolor Style: Contemporary Subject: Seascape Width: 40.2 Height: 80.3 Depth: 1.4 Weight: 55 lbs Framed: no :: All art on Zatista is original and signed.
