The fire at San Antonio, Italian School, 17th Century

Descriptio Oil on panel. Dimensions 65 x 36 cm. A religious scene unfolds against a vast, rocky, and mountainous landscape, structured around a narrative episode accompanied by various figures arranged on different planes. The presence of a large bonfire and the carefully crafted spatial composition lend dynamism and depth to the scene. The atmospheric treatment of the landscape, combined with the delicate figures and the richness of detail, reflects the style of the 17th-century Italian school, where religious narrative is harmoniously integrated into a visually striking natural environment.
