All auctions / Music & Musical Instruments / Telefunken - Klangbox RB 45 (Modified with Visaton 3-Way Upgrade) Speaker set
Description: A unique "Restomod" audio project combining classic 1960s German aesthetics with modern high-fidelity acoustic engineering. This lot features a pair of vintage Telefunken Hi-Fi Klangbox RB 45 wooden enclosures that have been professionally upgraded internally with high-quality, modern components from the respected German brand Visaton. This combination delivers the best of both worlds: the iconic, warm Mid-Century Modern look on the outside, and a powerful, crystal-clear sound performance on the inside that outperforms the original 60-year-old drivers. Technical Specifications & Upgrade Details: • Enclosures: Original Telefunken Klangbox RB 45 (Circa 1964–1966), Made in Germany. Beautifully crafted wood cabinets with iconic retro front grilles. • Internal Drivers: Fully upgraded to a modern Visaton 3-Way System (Woofer, Midrange, and Tweeter configuration). • Power Handling: Upgraded to approximately 50W RMS, making them highly versatile for modern amplifiers and receivers. • Frequency Response: Broad and detailed frequency range spanning 30 Hz – 20,000 Hz, offering deep bass response and crisp, airy highs. • Acoustic Performance: The speakers have been tested and deliver a balanced, punchy, and room-filling sound. All drivers are in pristine working condition. Cosmetic & Structural Condition: • Exterior: The vintage wooden cabinets are nearly 60 years old and show minor scratches, small blemishes, and natural signs of age/wear on the veneer. They remain solid, structurally sound, and presentable. • Modification Note: The original internal vintage components have been replaced by the modern Visaton setup. The conversion was cleanly executed to preserve the external vintage charm. All photos are part of the description. The item will be properly packed and sent via Smart Shipping with insurance.
