Taxidermy: A Victorian Cased European Honey Buzzard (Pernis apivorus), dated 08th Jan, 1867, attributed to Robert Duncan, Taxidermy, Newcastle Upon Tyne, (Pernis apivorus), Pernis apivorus), dated 08th Jan, 1867, attributed to Robert Duncan, Taxidermy, Newcastle Upon Tyne, a ful-mount adult male perched upon a short natural branch, mounted above moss covered groundwork below, set against a plain white painted interior, enclosed within a typical period single-glass display case, 62cm by 24cm by 61.5cm, hand written data in pencil to underneath of groundwork - " James Lord Hareshawkins ?, Jan 8th 1867", for a very similar case structure by Robert Duncan, see Tennants auction, 30th October 2019, Lot 375 cased Short-eared owl, also Lot 39 Tennants auction 05th August 2026 cased Northern Fulmar, auction links within condition report, unsigned by taxidermist CITES Annex A, Appendix II (pre-1947 exempt)
