Taxidermy: A Late Victorian Cased Pair of Ring-necked Pheasants and Woodcock, circa 1880-1933, by Thomas Jefferies, Taxidermy, King Street, Carmarthen, Wales, , circa 1880-1933, a pair of full-mount adults, the cockbird stood upon painted groundwork, the hen bird with head turning back and to the left below in crouched position, a full-mount adult Woodcock perched upon a painted rock ledge with wings raised, all mounted amidst a natural setting of ferns, grasses and fauna, set against a graduated painted sky backdrop, enclosed within a typical oak-framed three-glass display case with gilt slip border, 82.5cm by 25cm by 65.5cm
