French Gobelin/wall tapestry, a hunting scene with horses and hounds, this is known as the Chasse d'Oudry (or La Chasse Royale), based on the 18th-century designs of the famous French painter Jean-Baptiste Oudry. It is a machine-woven Jacquard wall tapestry in the traditional Aubusson- or Gobelin-style. The scene depicts an aristocratic royal hunting scene on horseback in a lush forest landscape. In the foreground are mounted hunters, hunting dogs, and attendants. Inspired by the historic French tapestry art from the court of Louis XV. Modern vintage variants are produced using Jacquard weaving technique (usually a mix of cotton, wool, and synthetic fibers). The specific lot on the screen measures 110 cm high by 145 cm wide. the hanging loops and the finishing trim are included this object has been removed from its wooden frame, due to damage to it by the previous carrier. As a result there are some edge flaws (see photos). When it is restretched, these will no longer be visible
