Taperstick Torches from the Restoration / Louis-Philippe era (2) - Brass

Stunning pair of candlesticks from the Restoration / Louis-Philippe period Solid brass 1830s/1840s France Well preserved their original bobeches Very fine engraving with guilloché ribbon motifs, called “rope-style” or twisted, on the base and lower shaft Objects of great quality: The round bases are removable and separate from the central shaft by a metal screw-thread system The reverse side of the bases shows the regular circular grooves typical of a period work done on the lathe Height: 23.5 cm // Base diameter: 11.5 cm Total weight: 1 kg In very good used condition: No missing elements, no cracks or dents. The bases’ screw threads operate perfectly Very attractive original antique patina that gives superb definition to the engravings They were deliberately left “in their natural state” to preserve their authenticity (The inside of the cups and bobeches has simply been thoroughly cleaned of old wax residues) Noting some traces of oxidation on their internal parts Please refer to the detailed photographs that accompany the written description Carefully protected, tracked, and insured shipping via Colissimo or Chronopost Search
