TAG Heuer - S/el Professional - No reserve price - WG1120-0 - Men - 1990-1999

Presented for auction by Second Vintage Defining the aesthetic of 1990s sports watches, this TAG Heuer S/el Professional showcases the highly recognizable interlocking link design that made the model a staple of its era. Presented in a two-tone stainless steel and gold-tone configuration, this piece stands out with its exceptionally well-preserved matte grey dial and original tritium lume, offering a charismatic and distinctive design. Brand: TAG Heuer Model: S/el Professional Reference Number: WG1120-0 Serial Number: Y39210 Movement: Quartz ETA caliber 955.112 Dial: Matte grey with applied luminous indices Case Size: 39 mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Stainless steel and gold-tone Production Year: 1990s Condition: Good vintage condition. Dial and Hands The well-preserved matte grey dial features a subtle textured finish, creating an excellent backdrop for the applied luminous indices with their gold-tone surrounds. The dial surface remains exceptionally clean with no visible damage, displaying a highly attractive aesthetic. It is paired with gold-tone Mercedes-style hands, which exhibit light oxidation and aging on their metal surfaces. The original tritium lume remains intact across both the hands and the indices, aging consistently and adding authentic vintage character to the display. Case and Crystal The stainless steel and gold-tone case features the distinctive S/el geometry, characterized by its flowing lines and integrated appearance. The case exhibits honest wear, with scratches and marks visible across both the brushed steel and polished gold-tone surfaces. The gold-tone unidirectional rotating bezel shows scratches and wear to the plating, particularly noticeable on the raised riders. A gold-tone crown, signed with the TAG Heuer shield logo, shows light wear and presents naturally alongside the case profile. The flat sapphire crystal remains clear, presenting no visible scratches or chips. Movement Inside the case beats the Swiss quartz ETA caliber 955.112 movement, signed by TAG Heuer and featuring seven jewels. The quartz mechanism presents cleanly, with a battery installed and no visible corrosion on the movement surfaces. Strap The watch is fitted with its original signed two-tone bracelet, featuring the famous interlocking S/el link design. The bracelet is worn but solid, showing scratches and wear throughout the links consistent with the case. It secures via its original signed folding clasp, which also exhibits age-related wear. The bracelet accommodates a maximum wrist fit of 18cm. Condition Good vintage condition. The watch displays honest wear throughout its two-tone case and original S/el bracelet, with scratches and plating wear visible, especially on the bezel riders and polished surfaces. The flat sapphire crystal remains clear and free of chips. The matte grey dial is wonderfully preserved, showing no visible damage, while the gold-tone hands exhibit light oxidation. The quartz movement is clean and visually well-maintained. Dimensions The case measures 39 mm in diameter (excluding the crown). Remarks This TAG Heuer S/el Professional is a highly recognizable design from the 1990s, defined by its unique interlocking bracelet and two-tone aesthetic. The remarkably clean matte grey dial and beautifully aged tritium lume make this an appealing example of a classic sports watch. History Introduced in the late 1980s, the TAG Heuer S/el (Sports Elegance) line was defined by its highly distinctive interlocking bracelet links, a design that would eventually evolve into the modern TAG Heuer Link series. The WG1120 reference numbering style was adopted in 1992 and remained in production until the S/el model was discontinued in 1999. Powered by the reliable Swiss quartz ETA caliber 955.112, this reference represents a defining era of TAG Heuer's design language, blending bold geometry with everyday utility.
