Table lamp - Modernist - Ceramic, Wood - Flower Ginger

Magnificent modernist desk lamp from the first half of the 20th century, conceived under the influence of the Orientalist taste that captivated European decorative arts during the early decades of the century. The piece deftly combines the elegance of silvery metals with the rich ornamentation of a gingerbread-type ceramic, reinterpreting models inspired by the decorative tradition of the Far East. The central body presents an ovoid form characteristic of Oriental vases, made in dark-ground ceramic and decorated with delicate floral relief motifs. The flowers, executed with great detail and highlighted by soft polychrome tones in cream, gold, and pale blue-green, spread across the surface, generating a dynamic composition of interlaced branches and open corollas, evoking the delicacy of Japanese and Chinese designs so valued during the height of modernism. This ornamentation adds depth and visual richness, contrasting with the specular shine of the metallic elements. The structure is completed by an elegant turned, silvered brass body, articulated by bulbous volumes and stepped profiles that provide verticality and refinement to the set. The octagonal base of ebonized wood, finished with fine peripheral decorative lines, provides stability and an appealing chromatic counterpoint that enhances both the ceramic and the metal finishes. With a strong decorative presence, this lamp constitutes an excellent example of the fusion between late Modernism and decorative Orientalism, a trend that sought to incorporate the exquisite arts of Asia into the European interior. Its careful combination of materials, rich floral ornamentation, and balanced proportions make it a piece of notable aesthetic value, ideal for adding sophistication and personality to classic, eclectic, or vintage-inspired spaces. Tracked shipping and careful packaging.
