Vintage ducktail-stem brass table lamp with faux tortoiseshell base - Complete with 2 Murano glass art lampshades For auction an elegant vintage table lamp dating from the late 20th century (circa 70s/80s), a refined example of Italian decorative lighting of the era paired with the Murano glass tradition. The structure features a solid, stable circular base made of molded resin with a distinctive decorative faux tortoiseshell finish, a look very popular in interior design of the period. From the base rises a sinuous neck in a gilded/brass metal with a ducktail-like contour, enhanced by a textured raised pattern along the curve of the arm. The true highlight of this lot is the presence of two exclusive interchangeable Murano glass shades, both entirely handmade and capable of varying the lamp’s aesthetics: 1. First Shade (Calla style): Artistic glass molded into a curled floral corolla, characterized by alternating satin and transparent bands. The interior is finished in glass granulation, a technique that creates a warm, soft light with rich reflections when the lamp is lit. Weight: 646 g. 2. Second Shade (Fazzoletto style): A classic of Murano craftsmanship, made in milky white glass with a glossy transparent edge. The complex three-point corolla shape, shaped by the glassmaster’s hot-forming, offers a more diffuse and dramatic illumination. Weight: 521 g. Conditions: The item presents in good vintage condition. The metal structure shows a natural patina and slight signs of age (small oxidations on the edge of the shade) attesting to its authenticity and era. Both glass shades are intact, with no inclusions or chipping on exposed edges. Original-era electrical system and functional, equipped with an on/off switch along the cord. Dimensions and specs: • Overall height: approximately 35 cm • Base diameter: 13.5 cm • Lamp body weight (without shade): 660 g • Shade weight Calla: 646 g • Shade weight Fazzoletto: 521 g An ideal piece for mid-century modern collectors and lovers of Hollywood Regency or Mid-Century style, ready to enhance any space.
