Set of two original period posters created for the Sun Ra and his Intergalactic Arkestra concerts at Châteauvallon, on August 24 and 25, 1976. The posters feature a striking graphic composition, printed in black on brown paper, with the monumental inscription 'SUN RA' at the center. Around them are the captions 'Châteauvallon', 'Intergalactic Arkestra', '2 different programs', as well as the dates '24 and 25 August'. These posters document Sun Ra (1914-1993) and his Arkestra's visit to France during their European tour in 1976. The two performances at Châteauvallon on August 24 and 25, 1976 are documented in the musician's discography and archives. Artist: Sun Ra & Intergalactic Arkestra Location: Châteauvallon, France Year: 1976 Dates: August 24 and 25 Set: 2 original posters Dimensions: about 65 × 49 cm each Old condition with several creases, folds, handling marks and minor blemishes corresponding to their use and age. The paper shows a patina and general yellowing. The photographs are an integral part of the description and allow a precise assessment of the condition. Nice pair of two copies of a Sun Ra concert poster dating from 1976, of interest to a collection devoted to jazz, free jazz, experimental music, or 1970s music posters.
