Description: This unique set of 3 sugar tongs includes a filigree piece from the early 19th century and two Art Deco tongs from Paris and the Netherlands. A beautiful combination for collectors of decorative silverware! - Contents of the set: 1. 7096: Filigree sugar tong (early 1st quarter of the 19th century) – 18 g, 11.4 cm. 2. 7097: Sugar tong (Thorel Désiré Fils, Paris, after 1880) – 36 g, 12.9 cm, Art Deco. 3. 7105: Sugar tong (Unknown, early 19th century) – 24 g, 10.5 cm, initials "A*M". - Total weight: ~78 g. - Condition: All tongs are in good to excellent condition. - Historical context: Sugar tongs like these were used in civil households for serving sugar lumps. The filigree and Art Deco styles illustrate the development of silverware through the centuries.
