Stylish Antique Pin with Pearl & Diamonds, c. 1905

As large and rich as the world of jewellery is - for men, there are only a few objects that can be harmonized with a classic wardrobe. A ring is appropriate, as are cufflinks, of course. But after that, it quickly becomes difficult to maintain a balance between individuality and good taste. The pin is one of the few exceptions here, capable of accompanying a formal wardrobe as well as adding a special touch to a less formal suit or even a casually worn jacket. Often worn on the lapel, plastron or tie in earlier times, numerous beautiful examples from all conceivable eras and styles have been preserved. A single pearl, often in combination with diamonds, was always particularly popular for pins. The pin shown here is also in this classic form: it features a slanted showpiece with a bouton-shaped, i.e. round but slightly depressed natural pearl flanked by two beautiful old-cut diamonds. The pin was created in the early years of the 20th century. This beautiful piece of jewelry history came to us here in Berlin.
